About Me!
Jason Bellini is a correspondent for CBS News on Logo, and is the first news anchor for MTV's new channel for the LGBT community, which is available to close to twenty million U.S. households. In November of 2006, he was awarded "Journalist of the Year" by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association.
Before joining CBS News on Logo, Bellini served four years as a CNN news correspondent.
During that time, he covered the world's conflict regions, doing three rotations in Iraq. During 2003's Operation Iraqi Freedom, Bellini reported as one of CNN's embedded journalists. He reported, often from the frontlines, from his position with the U.S. Marines. Bellini spent months in New York covering the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as the crisis evolved into an international war on terrorism. He later traveled to Central Asia to report on the story from Afghanistan.
He also covered the Kashmir conflict from India.
Bellini began his career with CNN in 1998 as a production assistant in the network's Washington, D.C., bureau. In 1999, Bellini made his on-air debut with CNN Newsroom, now CNN Student News -- CNN's news program for high school students. That same year he served as a field producer for CNN International, covering the NATO airstrikes against Yugoslavia. One of his Kosovo stories achieved Medalist Status in the 1999 New York Festival Awards. In 2001, Bellini received a Gold medal from the New York Festivals for Jason's Journal: The Holy Land, a program he produced on the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
Bellini worked for MTV in 2000 where he served as part of that network's "street team" for MTV's Choose or Lose election coverage that followed the presidential candidates on the campaign trail during Election 2000.
He also was a freelancer for writer for Washingtonpost.com and Channel One News.
Bellini earned a bachelor's degree in history from Georgetown University.
He lives in New York with his boyfriend.

I know more about Jason. I am glad of that knowledge. I want autographed picture of the man. It is nice to have a Gay man that I get to look up, because of his wisdom and the way he presents himself. Reading of his bio, WOW. Thanks for letting me know the other side of Jason. I hope his boyfriend knows how lucky he has in that man.

Dear Jason,
I enjoy your commentary, and especially your sensitive but unrevealing smile...so cheshire cat.

Is it possible to see the program "Jason's Journal: The Holy Land," somewhere online maybe?

I'm from the UK and we don't have a gay tv station (yet) but I really like the CBS news on logo podcast because there isn't anything like it in the world. I think it's great that such a powerful brand like CBS can back a new kid on the block like logo and put their name to it. I think Jason is so down to earth and sensitive about issues that really hit home to me. I remember seeing the woman dying of lung cancer fighting for the right to leave her lover her pension and I thought the story was given the dignity it deserved - so rare in the media in these hateful times.
Keep up the great work!

I like watching Jason Bellini on our local Logo station. He is a bit still and stuffy looking at first but he has becomed more relaxed looking recently. We love him here in Phoenix, AZ

I've been watching LOGO on cable tv, for about a year now, and am impressed by the intelligence of the programming . [ Sorry you are so dependent upon the advertizing, but I can put up with it.]
Jason has a most impressive bio, not that I'm surprised !!! He's such a mensch. I wish him well in his professional and personal life.
I imagine he makes a great impression on everyone. His awards are well deserved !

It's cool to see intelligence and sexiness embodied in one man---JASON BELLINI.
You're soooo hot!

I switched over to Dish Network and they do not carry Logo. I sure do miss LOGO. Jason Bellini being one of them. To all staff at LOGO "GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!" Keep up the great work you guys are doing!

I love watching logo for the CBS news. None of the other channels give us the news that we're interested in hearing as often as you do. Do Itay and the other casters have any kind of online profiles? Don't get me wrong Jason, I love you (in that newscaster to viewer kind of relationship) but I think I'm going to have to cheat with Itay... where is he???

Don't watch Logo much. I like original regular series.
Why isn't Logo News a regular series that I can TIVO?

Jason, you are truly a pioneer to the glbt community for journalism. I've been following your career since I first saw you on CNN. Aaron Brown always said you were going places, and he was so right! Your style, integrity, storytelling, sincerity, and way of delivering it is unduplicated! I hope to be seeing you doing queer news or frankly any news for a long time to come. I'm most proud when I can say "that's Jason Bellini formerly from cnn, and now doing gay short news stories for Logo". You have everything it takes to make it Jason, I hope that eventually CBS and LOGO will see the point in a regular 30-60 minute news show, showcasing issues important to the glbt community and make you the anchor/reporter in charge. Good luck Jason!

I videotaped you, Jason, EVERY SINGLE TIME that you were on Aaron Brown's CNN news.
Both your NYC bf and I spotted QUALITY instantly, albeit me via TV!!

The CNN "Searching For Loved Ones" clip is an extraordinarily piece of reportage; the events are so clearly explained; the aura of pity is so respectfully shown without melodrama.
