i am so jealous that Will got to sit at the View table. Elisabeth said some ignorant things but didn't sound as bigoted as I expected. my favorite thing on your blog so far.

Thanks for that. I think Elisabeth came off really well all things considered. But one thing - can we lose the inflamatory headline on this blog entry? 'Toe-to-toe' makes it sounds so much more adversial than it really it. What this is is a considered dialogue - something we need more of - not sensationalistic headline grabbing.

Whatever. She can't come out and say "I think gay marraige should be legal." Will did a very good job. I'm glad he brought in other supreme court decisions that were not popular with the general populace, but the court had to decide on anyway.

she's a hypocrite and wikle didn't challenge her on it

I personally I have believed for years that gay marriage should be legalized and gay men or women like me i am a gay man I believe we should be able to adopt children also . Thank you very much Will You were my favorite on big brother and im glad that you did this taping with elisabeth cuz it needed to be done! Shaun

Elizabeth still gets on my nerves 87% of the time. She's taking baby steps, but she's still kinda bigoted at heart. My take is that she loves gay people, enjoys them, but down deep feels that it's "wrong" from a biblical perspective and that's why she can't give her full support.
Speaking of getting on my nerves.... I could live without the "he's my boyfriend" disclosure. It's an interview - just be professional and unless there is some potential conflict of interest, why point it out?
Just found it a little snarky.

Will - I loved you on Big Brother. Get a haircut. You are too old to pull off the hip attempt - you looked much better with the short hair you had on the show. This is just a mess.

Will that was a great dialogue with Hasselback (you still can't get me to like her though! LOL)

PS. LOVE the HAIR, Ignore the above POSTER who said it's a mess. I think it's HOOOOOOOOTT!

I'm not sold on the sensational and/or informative draw of this interview--but I'm also not familar with "The View" or Hasselbeck's public position with the LGBT community--so I'm not prepared to make a fully informed opinion. Nonetheless, I feel Wikle's subjective comments regarding Hasselbeck's POV following the interview was totally inappropriate--despite his super cute hair.

How did this woman get the job?

I could pluck 5 people off the street with more wits, humor and grace.

Really, I'm just bored to tears. It's not meant to be snide. I just don't get it.

I wish there was a delete comment option--cause I feel I misrepresented myself in my original post. I came off judgmental, and that was not my intent. My apologies. I just feel, as a reporter, an objective perspective requires Wilke to not have justified, made excuses for and/or guessed what Hasselbeck's position or line-of-thinking might have been, but to let it stand from the interview itself. Plus, great hair for a great opportunity.

will un from fat bradford; youre way too cute

I thought the interview was great. Still don't like the woman but Will is really getting good. Look foward to him getting his own show. Speaking of which. It was kinda fun to learn that my two favoriates were a couple. And a cut couple at that.

Elisabeth did not answer the question because she is afraid of people knowing she is homophobic. I don't know why she agreed to this interview. Perhaps it was for publicity, but she's so dumb she did't expect gay marriage topic. Not surprising!

thanks for your sharing.sir!

elisabeth,
I am so trying to get an e-mail to you in regards to todays show 7-17-08.But as you can tell i am not very computer literate. I was so upset with you about the whole N. word segment. How do you get across to others that kids repeat what they hear, so how can it be okay to use certain words when they hear it on the playground, or playdates ,etc.. when the adults seem to think its okay to use it in their homes even when they think our little ones aren't listening. As i said I don't know how to get to your blog or whatever, but if you'd e-mail me back I would be honored to write you.
P.S. this is the first time I've ever tried to get in touch with a celebrity, let alone interrupt my hour with you ladies on the View.
Thanks for your great show
