Calendar Girls

Meet Miss Prospect Park, she's your July calendar girl from Brooklyn. Pretty!

Ready for a stylin' update on how queer women are perceived? Like looking at foxy images of women (who like women)? Do you like to know what day it is? Then, you're in luck. Coming fresh out of Brooklyn is the brand new and super-cool, I Heart Brookyln Girls 2007 calendar, which features totally cool photographs of great-looking women, posed in fun and retro looks celebrating all the different flavors of femme fatale-ness, and the different 'hoods of Brooklyn.

Conceived and produced by four friends who live in Brooklyn (surprise!) and who just happen to all be lesbians or queer-identified (they also happen to work as a photographer, stylist, a hair and makeup artist and a graphic designer--very convenient), the calendar gets launched next Friday (Sept. 8th) with a party at Southpaw in Park Slope (which is also a benefit for NYC's Anti-Violence project). You can also buy it online, and after next week it will also be sold in gay-friendly stores from NYC to San Francisco.

"We're just showing it the way it is," stylist Laura Allen (who's also May's Miss Red Hook 1944) to Metro newspaper. "Queer girls look many different ways."

Indeed! Check 'em out!
