"Ice Cream," You Scream...

Put a cherry on top of 'em! The New Young Pony Club.

Via the charming lads at Queerty, I came across this cute track and video for the tune “Ice Cream” by the cheeky three-girl, two-boy outfit called New Young Pony Club. They are a spunky group out of the U.K. and they’re currently touring, opening for upstart pop-starlet Lily Allen.

The “Ice Cream” track is sweet and all, but how does it stack other to other edible pop hits of memory?

Forblogonly_milkshake

I’d say it’s not as creamy or as funkily filling as “Milkshake” by Kelis.

Forblogonly_chewinggum

It’s not as refreshing or elastic or tangy as Annie’s “Chewing Gum.”

Forblogonly_chickennoodle

And it’s not as salty or sastifying as “Chicken Noodle Soup” (with a soda on the side) by Webstar. In fact, I've got to post a shot of Webstar's Young B. 'Cuz she rules.

See what I mean?

But back to the matter at hand...

Forblogonly_candymandy

I’ll prefer NYPC's "Ice Cream" to Mandy Moore’s “Candy.”

Forblogonly_candycameo

But I’m actually more partial to “Candy” by Cameo. (Love the red codpiece in this video, too.)

Forblogonly_candyiggy

And the Iggy Pop and Kate Pierson “Candy” duet is one of the best tunes ever.

But hey. Try a taste of some “Ice Cream.” You might like it.

Or you can always just have some "Cherry Pie."

My apologies already.
