Introducing Joshua and Jacob: The next big, hot, gay, twin pop duo!
Check these guys out! They’re brothers! Twin brothers! They’re pop stars (or they hope to be)! And they’re gay!
All that is just the beginning of the drama, the fun, the bickering and the loopy adventures of a new series that’s airing on Logo this fall (October 16th, to be exact). Jacob & Joshua: Nemesis Rising will chronicle the lives of the above dudes—Jacob (right) and Joshua—twin siblings who make up the pop/rock duo Nemesis, and who are hoping to make it big. This reality show will follow—as the press release promises—the twins “as they attempt to make it in the cutthroat music industry and, at the same time, come out publicly about their sexual orientation.”
I’ve seen a clip from an early version of the show, and you can’t take your eyes off of it. Joshua is relaxed, likes to party and is exceedingly single. Yep, he likes to go out, live it up, and then sleep in. On the other hand, Jacob is focused, driven (almost kind of anal) involved in a long-term relationship. And they all (brothers and one boyfriend) live together in one apartment in L.A. Jacob’s more of a pop singer; Joshua is into rock ’n’ roll. There’s some tension about their music, and just in their lives. Perhaps you can see where this all might go…
In another twist the pair, raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses, have to deal with whether or not to come out to their religious family (ouch!). And in the music biz, they’ve got to face the issue of being marketed as openly gay musicians. And what if they get dropped by their record label??? Yep, they have a lot going on!
And yep, come closer to showtime, there’s gonna be all kinds of Nemesis Rising stuff available in sassy digital, wireless and online features, including episode availability on download-to-own services and interviews, diaries and other behind-the-scenes videos (that’ll all be found at LOGOonline.com).
You’ll be hearing more about these gays guys in the future. But consider yourself warned. This is looking to be one of those crazily addictive TV experiences, if I can judge from the few minutes I got to see.
Watching their Jehovah Witness parents deal with this can only reveal the intolerance of Jehovah
Witnesses. My sympathy and support to these talented guys.

The idea is pretty cool, but they look like they're 40.
No offense, but I don't get it. How old are they?

Well yes the Jw thing is hard. Jw's don't hate gay person though, just the other stuff that comes with it.

It's true, Jehovah's Witnesses don't hate people. They only hate what is bad in the eyes of Jehovah. And practicing homosexuality is "detestable" to Jehovah.
Jehovah's Witnesses who are gay basically have two choices:
1) Remain celibate
2) Or marry a person of the opposite sex.

I've seen these guys perform before and they're super HOT and definitely not 40. My hats off to them for making the decision to do this for themselves and all of us.

I used to work with Joshua and he is a super nice, down to earth guy. And they are not 40 years old, I can assure you. I wish them the best of luck and can't wait to see their show.

So what if they were 40? If they're not now they will be. Why will that make them less desirable. It's time for gays to get over this ageism BS. It's very hypocritcal to not want to be discriminated against, but yet have such rampant age discrimination with in the community. Everyone gets older, grow up, deal with it and get over it.

I used to work with Jacob he is one of the sweetest guys. He's down to earth and always kind to everyone. Both Jacob and Joshua are talented young men and I wish them luck in all they do as they are stars already in my eyes. They are gorgeous men with talent that is timeless, hearts for their friends always I love them both

I can hardly wait for this series. I was raised JW and they are an intolerant cult. I have family that still will not talk to me after 25 years of being an out gay man. Congrats to these two.

I'm a faithful Jehovah's Witness and i'm gay. My friends know it and my elders know it. They are a very loving and supportive group and I'm not treated any differently from anyone else. They are not intolerant. They are only intolerant towards immorality because we subscribe to very high moral standards. For information about jehovah's witnesses go to watchtower.org For information about coping with homosexuality go to this non-religious website peoplecanchange.com
I hope these guys well in their career but I pray that they return to a Godly way of life. JW 4 EvER!

I was raides a JW...and I am scared for life!...I send all of the best wished for these two...Yeah you can be gay and be a JW...but forget about falling in love...and having a family...and being truely yourself...love is not evil...

I find it funny that some here would be upset about their age but the REAL big deal is how they were raised. If they were raised in JW home ..then they have had the very best upbring. I know that JW's do not hate gays....
They are upstanding citizens who do their best to live by the bible's standards...not standards set up by "today's standards..aka peers. I appreciate that they do not slam their upbringing nor their families faith. I say good for them...!
It is shortsighted that anyone should critize what they do not know or understand. Those that do... generally have fears of self they need to address. There are far worse things to be than to be a Jehovah's Witness!

I find it funny that people who do not know anything about the JW faith are so quick to comment on how "bad" they are. All they try to do is live a lifestyle contrary to the horrible world out there. i was raised a JW, baptized, and zealous. i'm 24, and left 3 years ago, and am gay. Not sure how my future will turn out... but i will say that being raised as a JW, was the best thing my mother could have done, and i have NO regrets, because as EVERY JW knows, the 'truth' never leaves you, that is...if you've made the truth your own.

It always amazes me how christians can rationalize dishonesty with that 'if I can just save one person' bs. peoplecanchange.com
is a thinly disguised christian response to us 'mixed' up and emotionally abused people. Sickening, really.

I am a gay twin too.
The amazing thing is that God is not judge ing people, we do it all by ourselves.
When I see Jacob and Josh and the videos, my passion is so with them. I have not yet told my parents that I am gay.
Because I care more about my twin brother than anything.
Josh and Jake are super!
I honestly think that God gave us twins, as angels, to utilize and show how much support and love is true.
I believe that you are born with your ability to make it in life. We all do.
Don't single out GBLT
We all feel the same feelings.
We all try to come to the people that make us happy.
That does not make any way that we are anti-this, anti-that. We are judged by a majority, supported by many, and understood by few and I am OK with that.
