Logo's New Shows: Verdi! Florists! Houseboys! Drag Queens in School!

Coming soon to Logo (clockwise, from top left): Ru takes you to school, Verdi gets big, Kept boys play house, and some florists are gonna get dirty.

This morning a Logo press release went out announcing some new shows for 2010. Some you know about already: Season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race; The upcoming reality fashion-stylist-madness which is The Robert Verdi Show Starring Robert Verdi; and the show I like to call "Real Houseboys of Eighth Avenue," Kept (which is a reality show about kept boys and their sugar daddies in NYC). But holy crap there's more gayness coming...

The network also announced that RuPaul's Drag Race will give birth to a spin-off, RuPaul's Drag U, wherein "RuPaul and other drag queens apply fairy godmother dust to the looks and lives of people in need of a little assistance." I hope it's as good as the original season of Charm School with Mo'Nique. That was TV gold.

And then, as if all of that weren't gay enough for you, there's The Arrangement which, although it sounds like the name of the next weak Sandra Bullock romantic comedy, is actually "an original series that follows the surprisingly intense action in a high-end floral design competition." Surprisingly intense? As if. I'd only expect a bunch of queened-out florists competing over orchids and hydrangeas to be cutthroat and venomous. How did this one not end up on Bravo?

RuPaul's Drag Race: Hotel Lockdown! Watch the New Contestants Get Stir Crazy!

It's exactly three weeks from the premiere of Season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race. Have you had a chance to meet the contestants yet?

If not, you can get a glimpse of many of this year's hopefuls above. Turns out the show's producers gave each of the girls (here in boy mode) a lil' video camera when they checked in to their L.A. hotel to begin shooting the new season. And for the first day or so they were totally quarantined! And yup, they got a bit antsy!

HBO sure knows how to make its gay fan-base happy.

HBO's True Blood already has its fair share of sexy men and gay characters, but lucky fans of the show are getting another treat with the addition of Southland star Kevin Alejandro. Apparently, he'll be playing an orderly named Jesus who is taking care of Lafayette's (Nelsan Ellis) mother and the two get romantically involved. Hmm, maybe I'll have to start watching this show again (I sadly gave up after two episodes).

Drag History Month Celebrates the Top 5 Drag Movie Moments Ever! Plus, RuPaul’s Picks!

I hope you kids are living for Drag History Month. Did you catch Bebe Zahara Benet’s fierce (and globally aware) PSA? Was it better than Varla Jean Merman’s from last year?

All month long we’ll be counting off some of the biggest drag moments that pop culture has ever seen, and to get things started here’s a quick list of the Top 5 Drag Movie Moments Ever. And we also quizzed drag super-legend RuPaul to sound off on her faves, too; check those out at the end of the post.

And speaking of Ru, it goes without saying that Starrbooty (starring Ru and NYC drag legends such as Sweetie, Lahoma Van Zandt, Lady Bunny and an early Candis Cayne) transcends any and all drag top fives...

5. Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Picture Show

He’s just a sweet transvestite from transexual Transylvania. What more is there to say about Dr. Frank-n-Furter? Tim Curry revolutionized drag, glam rock, musicals, fishnet hose and horror movies all at once by stepping into those heels in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

This ain’t pretty girl drag. It’s almost gender-f*ckery at its finest. And who would have ever believed it would end up playing midnight movie houses, spawning a later Broadway hit, and enticing all manner of Americans into exploring their blood-thirsty drag-tastic sides. All that... And a singing Susan Sarandon!

Lady Gaga Joins Polaroid's Creative Team???!!!

Soon you may be snapping those tragic mirror self portraits of yourself with a Lady Gaga branded digital camera, or maybe even gabbing with your besties on a Lady Gaga phone! 

Lady Gaga caught the media's attention once again as she unveiled that in addition to writing and producing kick ass music, she'll also now be entering the consumer electronics business. Yes that's right soon enough you'll be able to buy your own Gaga branded cameras, phones, mp3 players.. Oh! I've got it! I want a Gaga branded Kindle! Sign me up!

Gaga and her famed design team, 'The Haus of Gaga' will be teaming up with Polaroid (I know, I had no idea they were still around) to design new and innovative gadgets and gizmos that will hopefully be available for the 2010 holiday season. Historically the 'The Haus' designers were responsible for the creation of Gaga's outrageous and over-the-top costumes and staged shows; we'll see how these designers fare in the design and creation of small consumer electronics.

"I am so proud to announce my new partnership with Polaroid as the creative director and inventor of specialty projects," the "Paparazzi" singer said in a press release. "The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology/photography innovation — blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era — and we are excited to collaborate on these ventures with the Polaroid brand. Lifestyle, music, art, fashion: I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer, and to — as my father puts it — finally have a real job."

Neil Patrick Harris Is AfterElton's Gay Man of the Decade; He Said So on Jimmy Kimmel!

The entire world (yes, the WORLD) is buzzing about gay-media-saint Neil Patrick Harris winning the title of "GAY MAN OF THE DECADE" from our pals over at AfterElton.com. Don't believe me? Just watch the clip above from last night's Jimmy Kimmel.

New Music Alert; The Drums Are Hot. And Cute! And Ready to Get Big! Listen & Watch.

The Drums are four boys from Brooklyn making spirited rockin' indie music that's a big retro-jangly, a bit punky/new-wavey and a bit cute. And judging from their video for the tune "I Felt Stupid," they enjoy getting sporty in crisp white tank-tops and shorts. Stars of track and field are beautiful people, indeed.

The guys (who stem from the band Elkland) have a sold-out show next Wednesday (Jan. 13) at NYC's Bowery Ballroom, and then they tour the UK a while. They've been declared "New York's official Coolest New Band... the most contagiously energetic NYC band of the past 10 years" by the UK's NME mag and Rolling Stone said they're "one of the best indie pop debuts of the year."

Lady Gaga & Adam Lambert Face Off a Hateful Yutz! Wine Gets Slung.

Catfight! It's Gaga & Glambert vs. the world!

Apparently a few nights ago in Ottawa, a drunken clubgoer approached Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert, out partying together after a show on Gaga's "Monster Ball" tour and started harrassing the starry pair.

According to Pink News, the dude called Lambert a derogatory word starting with "f" and accused Gaga of being a man. To which Gaga allegedly fired back: “Well, that’s your opinion, isn’t it? And I’m not about to waste my time trying to change it.” Reportedly things escalated and Gaga dumped a glass of wine on the rube.

Uh, sure... I mean, I supposed some loon could have approached Gaga and Glambert and mouthed off, but wouldn't have she zipped back with something a bit more zingy? Ideally, I'd prefer to think a whacked-out dance battle would have ensued, involving about 17 costume changes and lots of wigs and some cat-throwing. Or at least Glambert could have face-humped the guy...

Drag History Month Returns with a Special Global Message from Bebe Zahara Benet

CAMEROOOOOOON!!! Sorry, just had to get that out of the way. Hey kids! Welcome to the New Year! And with January comes National Drag History Month, that time of year when we set aside an entire month to honor, revere, remember and celebrate all the hellaciously fabulous drag queens who've helped make this word a better place through the years.

As we all know, drag queens have always been on the frontlines fighting for LGBT equality. And now Bebe Zahara Benet, winner of the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race, is taking that mission even further. The African queen wants to turn National Drag History Month global. Let's get "International," Honey!!! Watch her PSA above!

Drag-lovers should also know that coming on February 1st is a whole new season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Get ready! And if you want to remember the fun we had during last year's inaugural Drag History Month, Varla Jean Merman can help, after the jump!

Last year's season of the Real World boasted three LGBT cast members: Sarah, who, up until the show (when she had a boyfriend), had only dated girls, JD, a gay dolphin trainer from Florida, and finally, Katelynn, who described herself as a transgender bisexual. There are those who argue that Chet, the...goofball of the group, also helped make the season gay. I might be one of those people.

New Pop Starlet Ke$ha, Interviewed! Talks About Gays & Her Shakira Lust!

As 2009 ends, you may have noticed that there's a new pop chicklet who's suddenly all up in your face. Or all over your radio and party-time playlists that is... It's Ke$ha, the Nashville-bred party girl whose spunky bad-girl-gone-worse tune "Tik Tok" is inescapable right now. Might it be the perfect New Year's Day hangover tune??!

We grabbed a few minutes with Ke$ha recently when she hit MTV and Logo's offices in Times Square, and she was a hoot! She was also done up in black sparkles and spangles and looking completely mad. And hot. And adorable.

Big Gay Movie News: "Best Supporting Vlog" Returns for Oscar Season! Movie-Loving Dorks Rejoice!

The arrival of December and Christmas also means we're now suddenly in the thick of year-end movie award season insanity. And just like we did last year, NewNowNext is serving up another season (Call it a "sequel!") of our film and awards-obsessed vlog series, "Best Supporting Vlog."

Yup, from now until the Oscars take a bow on March 7th, Elizabeth Dahmen and John Polly will offer their near-weekly take on what the hell is going on in the movie-awards world. But first, they hit the lovely gay bar Therapy in New York City's Hells Kitchen (prime stomping ground for show queens and movie lovers), to ask folks what films they love in 2009.

For every Precious or The Lovely Bones, there's a Star Trek or Up, so what ends up getting Oscar noms this year is gonna be anybody's guess.

Flashback: The Decade’s Top 5 Incredibly Bad Movies That You Have to See to Believe

As a screenwriting student, the idea of a quality movie has been pounded into my head for three and a half years now. I’ve seen and analyzed the greatest movies ever made—Chinatown, Citizen Kane, The Godfather — great works of art that have been held in high esteem for decades after their release, with no sign of these accolades ever stopping.

But like many people in my field, I occasionally grow tired and weary with “great” movies. Sometimes, the idea of seeing great performances, or hearing incredibly well-written dialogue, or experiencing magnificently shot and directed pieces of cinema that make me cringe with envy because of the filmmakers’ technical and artistic skill, just doesn’t do it for me.

Sometimes I want to sit back and marvel at an unmitigated disaster.

And yes, these films have it all: horrible, outlined-on-a-napkin stories, paper thin plots, and acting so horrendous you have to almost bite down on your lip to keep from laughing (or crying, depending on your emotional state going into these train wrecks).

Bad cinema is still cinema, and today’s post will pay tribute to the top 5 crappy films that have somehow managed to make failure into a work of art.

Watch Dangerous Muse's Video: "I Want It All" Hot Beats! Skin! Hairy Frocks?

The cute, stylish boys of Dangerous Muse are long overdue to serve us some new music, don't ya think? And finally, the video for their latest single "I Want It All" has arrived.

In the vid, Mike Furey gets all clenched up and shirtless as he delivers some breathy/cool vocals. And his cohort Tom Napack sports some wacky avant-garde shades (Did Lady Gaga have a tag sale?) in the misty blackness, too. I like!!!

This tune hails from the long-awaited (as in years) Dangerous Muse debut album, Take Control, which is being readied for a Spring 2010 release on Scarce Goods.

Sneak Peek: "The Robert Verdi Show" Is Bring Bald Badness to Logo

Watch a sneak peek of the first episode of the forthcoming Logo series The Robert Verdi Show Starring Robert Verdi which is prancing its way on to Logo in February.

And contrary to what you may be thinking, the show is not just some bitchy, shallow, reality show following some wannabe TV star as he flounces around the world of fashion and media. I mean, it is sort of that BUT... It's actually also sweet, funny and delightful. Really.

Robert Verdi has been popping up on TV forevah, dressing celebs, commenting on the fashions of First Ladies and Oscar winners on everything from CNN to Entertainment Tonight to Good Morning America. And on his new show, he's scheming to become an international mega-brand. Like Martha Stewart meets Oprah meets Walt Disney, maybe?

But underneath the brutish commandeering, the pushyness, and the domination of his beleaguered staff lies lots of wit and heart. Neither of which you'll really find on The Rachel Zoe Project (Am I lying?).

Can I get an "OY!" up in here? As tonight is the last evening of Hanukkah (or Chanukah, if you prefer) it's only fitting that Mike Diamond, online/TV personality and all-around sassy Jew queen, has taken to the streets of NYC to celebrate.

In his latest slice of video matzoh (entitled "Oy to the World!") Diamond heads to Eastern Bloc in the East Village for the weekly man-party Good Times. Hosted by DJ Josh Sparber, this past Wednesday night's shindig was a "Hanukkah Hairy" bash drawing a lot of manly menschen.

Michael Jensen and the wise and witty gay entertainment junkies over at AfterElton have outdone themselves today. Instead of their usual Friday "Best Gay Week Ever" they've gone all "best-of" on us and served up a massive post chronicling what went down gay-showbiz wise in 2009 with their big "Best Gay Year Ever" column.

Watch Cazwell's New Video, "Tonight": It's Shannon Meets "Run Lola Run" Meets Trans Hotness!

I've been a Cazwell fan for years. I've partied at his shindigs all over late-night Manhattan, I've loved his trippy/freaky-fun raps, and I've loved his Amanda Lepore collaborations. And I even loved him guest-starring on the season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race this past spring. Anyone who can coax a "Face, face, face, I give face..." out of Bebe Zahara Benet is a champ, thanks.

And I really like his new video for his single "Tonight." First, there's the Shannon "Give Me Tonight" sample, which simply rules. The world needs more Shannon, and it needs it served right, not like that lame-ass Jordin Sparks catastrophe.

Second, whoever the amazingly hot/sweaty/sprinting girl-boy is that Cazwell is pursuing throughout the video, she's scorchingly fierce. And drop dead gorgeous. As the video opened I was like "Ummm, why is Cazwell macking on this girl?" And then... I got it. Hello. Fantastic.

Third, the video is a late-night relay race all over NYC, which I always love. It's like Run Lola Run meets Party Monster. Praise!

Remember last year when RuPaul's Xmas card went out, featuring the drag megastar as both Michelle and Barack Obama? It was genius!

Well, 'tis the season for another hot-topic-worthy ready shot of RuPaul, and this time she's "Going Vogue!" Watch out, Grandma Palin. Ru's got on her red anorak and she's ready to govern! And I'm guessing Ru knows her way around a lumberjack. Plus, I'm sure Ru also knows all about laying some serious Alaskan pipeline.

But to continue the "Going Rogue" knock-off theme, shouldn't this image have said "Going Vogue: An American Legend?" No matter.

Most Depressing Holiday Tunes Ever! Dolly, Joni, Bright Eyes & Ben Folds!

The guys at AfterElton have linked to Buzzfeed's list of the 10 Most Depressing Christmas Songs, just in case you're feeling perky this mid-December day. Of course, we can also debate about the results...

I've never found Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas" particularly grim, though I guess it's sung by a bunch of whores down on their luck. But how can anything related to Dolly be a bummer?

However, I'm with them on their nod to Bright Eyes' take on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." It's deadly. But if you think it's rough, check out the Wiki entry on the song and its original lyrics. It's wrist-slittingly dour!

But still, there are some other gloom-tastic tunes that could have been included. Joni Mitchell's "River" is one of the most gorgeous songs ever, and its Christmas-y melancholy is staggering. There's a Nina Simone rendition of the standard "Little Girl Blue" set to a piano arrangement of the holiday hymn "Good King Wenceslas" that's truly beautiful and devastating, too.

But for shear bleakness, nothing can ever match the Ben Folds Five hit "Brick," about a guy taking his girlfriend to get an abortion on the day after Christmas. Oy.

Golden Globe Noms Announced: Nine, Up in the Air, Precious, Single Man Score Nods. Glee, Too!

No, it's not a 1950s game show. It's John Krasinski, Inglourious Basterds' Diane Kruger and Justin Timberlake assembled to announce the Golden Globe noms this morning in Hollywood. Aren't they adorable?

The nominess for this year's Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning in Hollywood, courtesy of Justin Timberlake, The Office's John Krasinski and Inglourious Basterds actress Diane Kruger. The prizes are seen as a preview of what will likely get nods for Oscar nominations in January (as if you didn't know).

Since everybody loves George Clooney, his Up in the Air led the pack of nominations, scoring six. The musical Nine, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Fergie, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman and Sophia Loren, received five nominations. Precious performed well, as did the gay-themed A Single Man, snagging noms for its actors Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.

On the TV side of things, gay-beloved Glee got noms for its cast members Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and the show itself in the Best Comedy category.

The Globes will be doled out on Jan. 17 at the Beverly Hilton. Check out the full list of Golden Globe nominees after the jump! Who ya rooting for?

I heard the new Julian Casablancas cover of the SNL Xmas tune "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" this past weekend, and it's totally be rattling around my head ever since. It's speedy, rockin' and zippy. And yes, Christmas-y and catchy. Can it now join the pantheon of worthy rock/pop holiday gems with Mariah's "All I Want for Christmas Is You", Low's "Just Like Christmas" and all of those killer Sufjan Stevens Xmas tunes?

Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Likes Attention from Gay Guys! Whatevah!!!

Yo boiiiizzzzzzz, you want some a 'dis???

Breaking news fresh from da Jersey Shore! Turns out the Mike "The Situation" -- you know, him of the abs and self-proclaimed guru of "the Guido Lifestyle" and the star of the unlikely MTV hit show -- likes attention. OK, no shocker there...

But E! Online's Marc Malkin reports that Mike is very happy to receive adoration or appreciative affirmation from gay guys, too. Says Malkin:

Mike's peppa doesn't swing both ways, but he says, "I'll be honest, I like the attention. I'm flattered if there are guys with different preferences that have crushes on me."

Awww, nice. Now go back to what you were doing.

Julianne Moore, the Single Woman in "A Single Man," Interviewed! Talking Gay Marriage, Tom Ford & Boobs!

There's basically really one single woman in A Single Man, the film version of Christopher Isherwood's classic 1960s novel, which opens today. And that woman is the luminous, fearless and kickass Julianne Moore.

In the film, directed by first-time director (and fashion guru Tom Ford), Moore plays Charley, the longtime best gal-pal to Colin Firth's George, who's a gentleman professor of a certain age grappling with life-altering issues of love, loss and longing. The film is a stylish feast for the eyes, and Moore is a thrill-ride presence with piles of red hair swooped up on her smart head like a cake. She smokes, drinks and needles and nutures her gay best friend, as she tries to make sense of her own mid-life crisis.

The film is a big gay must-see, and Moore shines as its female conscience. Here's a bit of what Moore herself had to say about appearing in a man-tastic 1960s period piece. And she also talks about her gay fans, same-sex marriage, how she meet Tom Ford (it involves an Oscar dress and her big, post-pregnancy boobs) and her own duties in life as a fag-hag.

A Single Man, the directorial film debut of fashion magnate Tom Ford opens in NYC today. The film is based on the classic 1960s novel by Christopher Isherwood, and follows a day in life of a late 40-something gay professor longing for his late lover and trying to figure out how (and if) to get on with his life.

The film is a gorgeous, stylish and poignant portrait of a man of a certain age, with Colin Firth in the title role of George Falconer. Julianne Moore plays George's best longtime gal-pal Charley, Nicholas Hoult plays a handsome student who wants to know George better, and Matthew Goode plays George's love Jim in impactful flashbacks.

The movie bears Ford's gift for sexy visuals and sleek impeccable stylish, but it's also full of warm moments, wry humor, intense sadness and sterling performances throughout. Oscar buzz is inevitable. In fact, Colin Firth has already scored some Best Actor nods in film fests worldwide.

Earlier this week I spoke with Firth as part of a press Q&A in NYC. Here's a few things he had to say (and he likes to talk!) about the role of George, shooting a major scene as Obama was getting elected, gay marriage and about any comparison between his gay movie and that big bio-pic that starred Sean Penn last year (Got Milk?).

If you see A Single Man, the directorial film debut of fashion magnate Tom Ford which opens in select theaters today, you'll be treated to some great visuals, and a moving story of loss and longing. Based on the classic 1960s novel by Christopher Isherwood, the movie follows a day in life of a late 40-something gay professor pining for his late lover and trying to figure out how (and if) to get on with his life.

The film is gorgeous, stylish and poignant in its portrait of a man of a certain age (played by Colin Firth), and gay viewers will swoon at Ford's gift for sexy visuals and sleek impeccable stylishness. It's like a sunny, So-Cal Mad Men world, but gayer.

The cherry on the top of this rich eye candy is 20-year-old British actor Nicholas Hoult. You may have seen him on Out Magazine's November cover (shot by Ford) and you may remember him as the kid in About a Boy. But Hoult's all-grown up, and in A Single Man he plays a college student very interested in his older male professor.

In the film, Hoult also goes skinny-dipping in the ocean, wears a white fuzzy sweater like nobody's business, and spends a nice portion of the film in a towel. Nice.

At a press event in NYC earlier this week, I got to particpate in a Q&A with the film's cast. Read on to see just a little of what Hoult had to say about his character's sexuality and that soon-to-be infamous white sweater.

I attended a press event this week for the film, wherein Ford and his three leading cast members (Firth, Moore and Hoult) all fielded questions from the press. What follows here is a bit of what Ford had to say about making his first film, telling a story of gay love and longing in these political times, why this story spoke to him, and also about a voice-over cameo that's top-secret (only, not really).

First Look: Sex and the City 2 Poster! And Some Pics! What Do You Think?

Have you seen the trailer for Did You Hear About the Morgans? How rough does Sarah Jessica Parker look in that? Frankly, it's disturbing how age-y and haggard she looks. Some DP has been flogged for showing the wear-and-tear on Mrs. Broderick's iconic-ness, I hope.

I point that out because here's the SJP we expect. Full-on Carrie Bradshaw hellaciousness. Not perfect, but fierce. Yup, it's a teaser poster (above) from Sex and the City 2. And it tells you nothing, except maybe that this installment happens in space and is a cross between Ice Age, The Matrix, Logan's Run and Avatar. Shiny! Silver! Huh?

More photos (below) include a possibly terrifying looking karaoke scene? Or maybe the 4 gals are now starring in an all-cougar production of Disney on Ice? And then there's one solo/somber shot of Carrie just looked blurry and wistful with knobby knees.

Bruce Springsteen Supports Gay Marriage! Go New Jersey!!!

The Boss says "Let my gay Jersey boys and girls get hitched!"

Rock legend and New Jersey's most cherished citizen, Bruce Springsteen, last night put up a statement on his website, BruceSpringsteen.net, voicing his support for gay marriage. The post is concise and eloquent:

A BRIEF STATEMENT FROM BRUCE
Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I've been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton. I've long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, "The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is -- a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law." I couldn't agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now.

NICE! Who knows if Springsteen's support will change any minds in the NJ Senate, but he is a god in the Garden State. His support may at least clue in some folks who might have been waffling... Tomorrow, the gay marriage bill gets put up for a vote. Let's hope for the best.

Meanwhile, this past weekend Springsteen was honored in DC as part of this year's awardees at the Kennedy Center Honors along with Robert De Niro, Mel Brooks, Grace Bumbry and Dave Brubeck. At the shindig, President Obama remarked of Springsteen, "I'm the president, but he's The Boss." The event will air on TV on CBS on December 29th.

Adam Lambert Interview: A Bit More About the AMAs & OUT Magazine. Argh!

Adam Lambert is still snagging buzz left and right. He's slated to be on The View this coming Thursday. (They're pre-taping his performance. They're that nervous?)

But before he did all that, he stopped by Logo and chatted with us. Har! His episode of NewNowNext PopLab aired last night (it's airing now, and will be on again tomorrow night at midnight). But above here's some dish you won't see on the show... More chatter from Glambert about the AMAs and its backlash.

And there's another fun question: Given all the fuss and grief he got from Out Magazine's editor Aaron Hicklin, would Adam appear on the magazine's cover again? See what he says, above!

There's even some dishy speculation floating out there now that maybe Glambert may pop up at tonight's OUTmusic Awards (a big fete honoring queer musicians of all sorts) at NYC's Webster Hall tonight. Hmmmmmm... Why not? Turns out he whooped it up with his fellow gays at Splash last night!

Sade's New Single "Soldier of Love" Debuts This Morning. Hear It Now!

Sade just unveiled her new single this morning at Sade.com. "Soldier of Love" is the title track from her new album, coming on February 8, 2010.

The song is a deep, rootsy affair. Less caramel and smooth curves than we are used to from Sade; this track is more spare than soft, with edgy bass and beats. Kind of crunchy, with deeper vocals than you might initially expect. The rhythm thumps, rather than glides... Whattya think???

Think we'll ever get enough of Lindsay Lohan (on or off-screen)?

Either way, we're just here to let you know one of your favorite messy celebs to watch in the tabloids has been working. We've gotten word from I Mean...What.com that Lohan's got some hot new photos. She was recently photographed by director and photographer Yu Tsai for Muse Magazine.

The pics are provocative and fierce. They're even inspired by Kate Moss and an early 90's Johnny Depp. Hotness! And they got some attention on Page Six already. Photog Yu Tsai talked them up, hyping up the menage a trois aspect of the shoot, its nudity and the exposure of some Lohan nipple. Oy!

Says Tasi:

"The three of them were very sensual and provocative, but Lindsay understands this piece was created not for any sensational value other than artistic integrity," Tsai said. "There was never a discussion about pushing the boundaries. She was totally comfortable with the nudity as long as it had artistic integrity. When you see her nipple, it just happened in the moment..."

The Kids in the Hall Are Coming Back??!!! Get Ready for "Death Comes to Town" Watch the Trailer!

You may have to be either over 30 or Canadian or just a gay geek with a sense of humor to care, but... THE KIDS IN THE HALL are coming back! Seems like they're making an mini-series entitled Death Comes to Town that will run for 8 episodes on CBC (that's Canadian TV) in January 2010. And you can watch a preview via FunnyOrDie.com.

From this first glimpse, it looks like we'll see lots of all-new characters, and the plot will center on a small-town murder mystery in Shuckton, Ontario. And yes, "Death" will literally have a large role (and ride into town on a Greyhound bus).

But some reports say we may see some reprises of old KITH characters (Buddy Cole? The Head Crusher? The Chicken Lady? Kathie with a K and Cathy with a C?) but it may be too soon to tell which. But it does look like Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson -- yes, all five of the original guys -- are back!

The Lady Gaga parodies just keep a coming. This one is "Rad Bromance" (get it?), and I'm a sucker for silly alliteration so I was a fan from the get-go.

This one comes from HiimRawn (or "Hi, I'm Rawn" if you prefer), and yes it's a pretty cheesy/ridiculous spin on "Bad Romance," but there's definitely some funny stuff going on. The big eyes! The polar bear cape. Bwahahahahaha...

Chromeo's "Night by Night" Video: Sexy Warehouse, Dance Drama, Lucky Ladies...

I've long been a fan of the twisted retro pop/electrofunk crunch of Chromeo's music. The Montreal-based duo of Pee Thug and Dave always manage to channel classic beats, zippy melodies and a appreciation of the best of 80s and 90s pop into everything they do. And I always crush on Dave's hot, skinny, sorta nerdy-sexy charms.

So, of course I'm really loving his new video for "Night by Night." I really hope that somewhere on the gray Greenpoint NYC waterfront there's a bunch of pent-up ladies enjoying some "So You Think You Can Dance"-style group therapy with a hot tall string-bean dance instructor/gyrating guru.

OUTmusic Awards 2009 Are Coming on Tuesday! Vote for your Favorite Queer Artists Now!

I'm a sucker for awards shows. Doesn't matter if it’s in film, television, or, as in this case, music, any awards show is likely to send me into a fit of guessing who will win or complaining about the nominees who got snubbed (my lips are sealed).

So it's with great pleasure that we here at NNN announce LOGO's involvement with the OUTmusic Awards, a ceremony created to honor underrepresented LGBT recording artists and performers.

The awards are an eclectic mix of underappreciated and often unsung artists who deserve their time in the spotlight (and thanks to OUTmusic, they're starting to get the attention they deserve).

Aside from a vast array of nominees in a diverse series of categories, LOGO is sponsoring three of the awards: Next Gay Icon 2009 (think Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, J-Hud), Fiercely Fashionable 2009 (Rihanna, Semi Precious Weapons, Fergie) and Keep Bringin’ Sexy Back 2009 (which includes Peaches, P!nk, Colton Ford). Are you ready for the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards?

We sure are. One reason may be because the sexy LL Cool J will be hosting the show which airs live on CBS on January 31st. And he’s a producer of the show, too.

But the main reason is because it's always a big ridiculous night for music. Glitz. Performances. Drama! And all of the artists and songs we've been living for all year finally get the credit they deserve. The songwriters, the producers and everyone involved in the creation process are so often under the radar but they will be acknowledged once again for their tremendous successes over the past year. Or they lose, but they still get some attention!

The nominees were announced on Wednesday and just in case you missed it, we'll clue you in on some of the big names mentioned.
